Hi everyone,
This dog has been living in a field near a rock-cutting industrial site in Agia Marinouda, Paphos. About six months ago, she gave birth to 11 puppies, all of which were successfully rehomed by a friend of mine.
Today, she was finally caught and is scheduled to be sterilised tomorrow. After the procedure, we will ask the vet to keep her for a few days post-operation, as we have no place to house her. If no alternative is found, she will be released back to the field.
Although the workers at the site feed and look after her to some extent, she needs a forever home with someone experienced in handling her breed. She appears to be a mix of husky and German shepherd, or something similar.
So far, she has remained calm inside the trap we used to catch her, but she generally keeps her distance from humans. She seems to get along with other dogs, as the field has several strays—the females there are already sterilised, though the males are not.
Please ask if any shelter can take her in for socialisation and rehoming—ensuring she goes to someone who is genuinely committed. We likely have only the next two days to find her a safe place to go.
